- Now all 4 frames are dry, find a spot on your fan where your frame will set and where the blades do not reach. This is where we will insert the dowel. I put one on opposite corners. Once you have found your spot measure on your frame and drill a hole through the frame making sure you stay within the wood and not in the grooved section. Use your first frame you drilled as a guide for the other three.
